TinkerTool System 9.84

TinkerTool System 9 is a collection of system utility features helping you in performing advanced administration tasks on Apple Macintosh computers. The application makes use of a self-adapting user interface which automatically adjusts to the computer model and to the version of macOS you are running.
All options available in the current situation are accessible via “panes”, very similar to the System Settings application. The features are controlled via a single window which allows you to use the application as a general toolbox and First Aid assistant.
This includes
- built-in maintenance features of macOS, usually not visible on the graphical user interface,
- extended file operations, not available in the macOS Finder,
- the possibility to access advanced system settings which are not visible in System Settings,
- graphical user interfaces for “pro” features for which Apple doesn’t provide any graphical interface in modern versions of macOS any longer,
- genuine and unique features of TinkerTool System, designed to resolve typical real-world problems of administrators and to fix the effects of certain defects (“bugs”) in the operating system,
- features to protect your privacy,
- an emergency tool to troubleshoot and repair macOS in cases where the normal user interface is no longer starting correctly or the user account of the system administrator has been damaged,
- functions to collect advanced information about the hardware, operating system, and applications.
What's New:
Release 9.84 (Build 251103)
- Added new pane to modify the system-wide parameters of the SMB client of macOS. There are 39 settings in total, grouped into the areas general, security, performance, and data compression.
- Added new system setting to enable the legacy SMB 1 protocol for access to the SMB server of macOS (macOS 26 Tahoe only).
- Added new system setting to allow the SMB server of macOS to register its name via NetBIOS (macOS 26 Tahoe only).
- Added new diagnostic feature in Operational Safety to determine the list of Apple devices which have full access to iCloud Passwords & Keychain, and which are still known but inactive.
- Added new compatibility check for applications, detecting their minimally supported operating system, SDK, user interface support, background components, legacy App Store receipts, and the use of third-party frameworks like Electron, Sparkle, and Squirrel. For macOS 26 Tahoe, possible conflicts between Electron and the operating system are indicated. This feature is provided for free, even in demo mode.
- If users have selected “history mode” for navigating between panes, the sub-features of panes are now included in the history. This often causes backwards and upwards navigation to be equivalent, and better matches the behavior of Apple’s System Settings application.
- Fixes an issue where the category “Network Volumes” was not visible under all circumstances in the table of privacy settings that can be reset.
