Fission 2.8.1 - Universal аudio еditor

Fission can crop and trim audio, paste in or join files, or just rapidly split one long file into many. It's streamlined for fast editing. Plus, it works without the quality loss caused by other editors, so you can get perfect quality audio even when editing MP3 and AAC files.
If you need to convert formats, Fission can do that too! You can rapidly export or batch convert files to the MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless, FLAC, AIFF, and WAV formats.

Key Features:

  • Edit MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless, and AIFF files with no quality loss
  • Quickly split a long audio file into smaller files
  • Remove unwanted content, such as commercials, from your audio file
  • Re-arrange audio in a single file, copy audio from one file to another, or merge with a quick drag and drop
  • Create great-sounding MP3 or AAC ringtones for your cell phone.

What's New:

Fission 2.8.1

  • Fission now supports WAV files up to 4 GB in size.
  • Fission now reliably saves metadata for all WAV and AIFF files.
  • A problem where the “Insert Silence” option could lead to issues with saving has been corrected.
  • A rare issue where using dithering when exporting Apple Lossless files could result in distorted audio has been corrected.

Fission 2.8.0

  • Full Support for MacOS 12 (Monterey)
  • Fission now has full compatibility with the MacOS 12 (Monterey).
  • Improved Resampler
  • Fission's sample rate converter has been overhauled, and now provides greatly improved conversion quality.
  • Exporting to Apple Lossless, FLAC, AIFF, and WAV now offers advanced “Dithering” settings.
  • The Composer and Grouping tags are now supported for FLAC files.
  • To prevent issues with other applications loading AIFF files, Fission no longer preserves old HFS Type/Creator codes.
  • Fission now avoids preventing the Mac from sleeping, except when it's actively playing audio.
  • Fission now correctly shows the “Compilation” tag, even if it does not conform to specs.
  • The Export window no longer incorrectly throws an exception with certain custom formats and sample rates.
  • Clicking in the Export window no longer incorrectly shifts content visually.
  • A change made in Fission 2.7.1 that worked around a performance issue with the QuickLook feature in MacOS has been reverted. Unfortunately, that change led to issues with the Music and QuickTime Player apps. At present, QuickLook does not properly preview chapterized AAC files. This will require a fix from Apple.
  • Fission now requires MacOS 10.14 (Mojave) or higher. If you're still on 10.13 (or lower), be sure to see our Legacy page.
