Unite for macOS transforms any website into a native Mac app-fast, customizable, and tightly integrated with macOS. Instead of juggling browser tabs, create standalone apps that live in your Dock, use native window controls, and behave like regular Mac software.

Make an app in seconds: enter a URL, pick an icon, and customize appearance and behavior. Each app runs in its own lightweight, WebKit-based environment, offering a more integrated and efficient experience than browser web apps or Electron alternatives.

Unite apps are highly configurable: show or hide title bars, match colors to site branding, tweak window styles, and manage tabs with features like pinning and locking. Choose how links open, enable per-app notifications and Focus Mode behavior to minimize distractions, and use built-in modes-standard windows, sidebars, floating or compact views, and menu bar utilities-to suit any workflow.

Additional conveniences include an integrated ad blocker and customizable keyboard shortcuts for faster navigation and daily use.

Version 1.6:

  • 1Password Autofill (Beta): A new "Fill passwords from" option in Settings > Passwords lets Unite apps fill your logins straight from 1Password, alongside the built-in password manager.
  • VoiceOver Support: Added proper VoiceOver labels throughout Unite and your generated apps, including settings dialogs, so screen reader users can navigate every control.
  • Faster Typing on ChatGPT and Similar Sites: Fixed several background inefficiencies that were slowing down typing and streaming responses in ChatGPT-style apps compared to Safari or Chrome.
  • Local File App Support: You can now create apps that point to local files, not just web addresses.
  • Popup Tab Fix: Fixed tabs opened by a site (via "open in new tab" links) becoming unresponsive or stuck open after a while.
  • Favicon Notification Badge Fix: Fixed tab favicons and pinned tab titles getting stuck showing an old notification count — like a tab still showing "11" long after you'd already cleared your notifications on the site.
  • Link-Launch Improvements: Fixed launching an app from a link also opening an extra home page tab, added a setting to control this ("Don't open home page when launched from a link"), fixed "Move to New Window" ignoring the current page, and fixed sidebar windows showing the app name instead of the page title until switching modes.
  • Smarter Default Browser Forwarding: "Forward to default browser" now always follows your current macOS default browser, instead of getting stuck on whichever browser was default when you first turned the setting on.
  • Whitelist Wildcard Fix: Fixed whitelist patterns with wildcards (like 192.168.0.* or *://github.com/*) not matching as expected.

How do I install the app?

Mount the image, drag the app into the "Applications" folder and launch it. If the system blocks the launch, allow it in "System Settings → Privacy & Security".

The app is damaged or won't launch

Reinstalling from a fresh image usually helps. Make sure your macOS version matches the one listed in the compatibility specs.

How do I update?

Download the new version from the site and install it over the current one — your settings will be preserved.

Try a mirror or a download manager. For large files the browser often drops the connection.

How do I completely remove the app?
