To witness iMute's ability, you may open up the sound panel under system preferences and notice that even if the input volume is minimal, you can still see that the microphone is still capturing your voice and the input indicators are flashing. How do I install the app?
Mount the image, drag the app into the "Applications" folder and launch it. If the system blocks the launch, allow it in "System Settings → Privacy & Security".
The app is damaged or won't launch

How do I update?
