Piezo 1.9.9

Piezo

Piezo makes it a snap to record audio on your Mac. In seconds, you'll be recording audio from any application or from audio inputs like microphones. Piezo requires almost no configuration, and it's a blast to use! Simple and inexpensive - that's a winning combination.

Version 1.9.9:

  • Decluttered Menus on MacOS 26 (Tahoe)
Menus have been decluttered on MacOS 26 (Tahoe), removing the menu bar icons Apple forced into Piezo. For more details, see our blog post.
  • Unobtrusive Update Notifications
Piezo’s software update notifications have been modified to be less obtrusive, in the hopes of avoiding disruptions. When the timed automated check detects a newer version, it will no longer pop a dialog in front of your work. Instead, a small “Update Available” indicator will appear in Piezo’s main window. This change makes it easier for you to control when you update to newer versions.
  • Quo VoIP Capture Support
The Quo desktop app (formerly OpenPhone) is now supported as a VoIP audio source, making it easy to record both halves of a conversation.
  • The control-click/right-click contextual menu now properly appears for the Code field of the License window, allowing pasting via the mouse. Command-V also continues to work, of course.
  • A never-spotted-in-the-wild crash which could occur due to improper resource clean-up when installing Loopback or SoundSource has been fixed.
  • Piezo’s “License” window now contains a helpful link to access our customer dashboard.
  • Visuals on several of Piezo’s dialogs have been improved.
  • MacOS 14.4 or higher is now required
Piezo now requires MacOS 14.4 or higher. If you're on an older version of MacOS, be sure to see our Legacy Software page.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install the app?

Mount the image, drag the app into the "Applications" folder and launch it. If the system blocks the launch, allow it in "System Settings → Privacy & Security".

The app is damaged or won't launch

Reinstalling from a fresh image usually helps. Make sure your macOS version matches the one listed in the compatibility specs.

How do I update?

Download the new version from the site and install it over the current one — your settings will be preserved.

The download link doesn't work

Try a mirror or a download manager. For large files the browser often drops the connection.

How do I completely remove the app?

Use an uninstaller utility — it cleans up the service files that remain after moving the app to the trash.
