Welcome to RX 9! This version features new processing that makes generating complex ambiences, removing tricky hum and interference, and separating dialogue from background noise easier and faster than ever. We’ve delivered new modes to Ambience Match, Dialogue Isolate, and De-hum. And the History list is now expandable with the ability to restore a selection to previous processing steps.

  • Ambience Match: (ADV) Automatically create ambient fill from complex background sounds such as traffic, crowds or water.
  • Dialogue Isolate: (ADV) We’ve added a new neural net that better isolates dialogue from background noise while preserving underlying ambience.
  • De-hum: (ADV & STD) Remove hum, buzz and interference at any frequency with a new Dynamic mode that finds and targets objectionable sounds.
  • Spectral Editor ARA Plug-in (only in Logic): (ADV & STD) Surgically remove and repair unwanted noises in your dialogue and instrumental tracks inside Logic via Audio Random Access.
  • Expandable History List: (ADV & STD) The History list is now larger and shows more of your processing steps.
  • Restore Selection: (ADV & STD) Roll back a selection to its previous or original unprocessed state via the History list.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install the app?

Mount the image, drag the app into the "Applications" folder and launch it. If the system blocks the launch, allow it in "System Settings → Privacy & Security".

The app is damaged or won't launch

Reinstalling from a fresh image usually helps. Make sure your macOS version matches the one listed in the compatibility specs.

How do I update?

Download the new version from the site and install it over the current one — your settings will be preserved.

The download link doesn't work

Try a mirror or a download manager. For large files the browser often drops the connection.

How do I completely remove the app?

Use an uninstaller utility — it cleans up the service files that remain after moving the app to the trash.

It´s a little bit tricky to install, though, I downloaded the .dmg directly from website and the patched with the standalone .app file, after replacing the plug-in files for the ones on the folder "MOiRA", then opened a terminal and enter:

# sudo chmod -R 755 /Applications/iZotope\ RX\ 9\ Audio\ Editor.app
# sudo xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/iZotope\ RX\ 9\ Audio\ Editor.app
# chmod 777 /Applications/iZotope\ RX\ 9\ Audio\ Editor.app

of course yo have to have admin privileges.

RUN THE APP AFTER ALL THIS IS DONE!

This version isn’t working, crashes upon launch. I’ve tried to run the terminal commands, but it was the same. Instructions followed accordingly to .bro file. Had to roll back to v9.2. Hopefully a corrected app will be issued soon. Monterey 12.1.2 intel.

Is this the same version from februray 27th? Different buid?
